The Hercules emulator can run SUSE Enterprise Linux 10 SP2 (s390x), one of the versions of z/Linux available for the IBM mainframe.  The emulator itself can be run on several versions of Linux on a PC or server.  Once installed and booted, the emulator can be controlled through its front panel in a similar manner as the real machine.

At the moment TurboHercules is in the beta testing phase for SLES 10 SP2 on Hercules on Linux.  

In the meanwhile we invite prospective users to try the demonstration packages we have available on our site.  First go to the Documentation section and pick up a copy of the beta installation instructions.  The SLES 10 SP2 operating system image is available from Novell.  Se the installation instructions for details.
