Hercules on Linux Host

The Hercules emulator has been tested on OpenSUSE 11.1.  It should run on a variety of other Linux platforms (Fedora, Ubuntu, Red Hat SUSE, etc) platforms, but it has not been tested.  It is a faithful representation of an IBM mainframe (IBM System 370 up to the latest IBM z/10) and can execute any of the mainframe software (operating systems and applications) that are available.  Please note that it is the responsibility of the user to make sure that the software being used is correctly licensed for execution on the emulator.

To try out this package for yourself first go to the Documentation section and pick up a copy of the beta installation instructions.  Then go to the Downloads section to obtain the needed file (Hercules Base Installation for Linux (turbohercules.tgz)) for your particular installation.

Note:
To download software from TurboHercules requires registration. Please log in or register first.
